Zion National Park and Arches National Park. Located in the southwestern area
of the state, Zion is known for its high plateaus, sandstone canyons and large
rock towers. Arches is located in the high desert area of Utah and has
elevations that range from 4000 to almost 6000 feet above sea level.
Zion encompasses
over 229 square miles and provides some of the best camping in Utah. Dustin
Jorgenson often enjoys weekend camping trips in Zion National Park. There are
many hiking and bicycling trails that go through Zion. When hiking in a
national park Dustin Jorgenson recommends that you stay on established trails
and that you are especially careful when walking near overlooks and drop-offs.
There are many areas where loose sand and pebbles can cause the trails to
become slippery.
