Dustin Jorgenson: Recreational Basketball League Champion

In addition to being an individual who participates in canoeing, hiking, exploring canyons, rock climbing, intramural flag football, volleyball leagues, riding all-terrain vehicles through the trails of Utah, coaching a powderpuff (i.e. all girls) football team, skiing, riding snowmobiles on the many trails that Utah has to offer, mountain biking, camping, boating and fishing, Dustin Jorgenson also participates in a recreational basketball league.

“Basketball is a fantastic sport and is not only one of my favorite sports to watch, but also one of my favorite sports of all time to play. There is absolutely nothing like getting a group of friends together and playing a pick up game of basketball. Basketball forces you to focus not only on your own athletic performance but also your communication skills. My team was able to become successful because we placed a big emphasis of our game plan on the aspect of team communication,” says recreational basketball league member Dustin Jorgenson.

Dustin Jorgenson has been playing basketball for his entire life, which is just one of the many reasons that Dustin Jorgenson joined the recreational basketball league in Salt Lake, Utah. Dustin Jorgenson proved himself to be an integral part of his team’s success as Dustin Jorgenson’s team went on to be crowned the champions of the recreational basketball league. Dustin Jorgenson said, “It’s fun to win it all but I still enjoy the team atmosphere of sports and rubbing shoulders with good friends in a common cause even more. We as team of friends practiced very, very hard, but you cannot base your entire game plan around the aspect of athletic performance. Too many teams have failed because they do not have good team chemistry and know how to communicate in a proper manner. Communication is key when it comes to team sports.”

Dustin Jorgenson loves the game of basketball. Dustin Jorgenson will continue to play the great game of basketball for as long as he possibly can and he will also continue to play in recreational basketball leagues. Dustin Jorgenson suggests that everyone get out there and find a recreational basketball league to join.
